Tips on Keeping Your Cars Interior Clean
Nobody likes a dirty car. You probably spend the majority of your time in your car, and neither you nor your passengers want to be surrounded by clutter every time you step inside.
If you don't have time to give your car a thorough deep clean once a month, try implementing these quick and easy tips every day to reduce the amount of work you have to do later down the line.
Have an ‘in out’ rule
Whatever is brought into the car must be removed. Don't let your belongings pile up - make a habit of taking anything you bought in the car out when you finish a journey.
If you have passengers who bring items into your car, remind them to take them with them when they leave. Alternatively, invest in a car bin so they can dispose of any litter they have.
Invest in car mats
Car mats are simple to clean; simply shake them out of the car to keep mud and dirt from accumulating and ruining your carpet. They're also less expensive and easier to replace than carpet.
Seat Covers
Seat covers will protect the seats from spillages, staining, tears and more. These can all decrease the value of your car if and when you come to sell it, which of course you want to avoid. They are also easy to maintain and replace, and are also inexpensive.
Vacuum regularly
Even with the protection from seat covers and car mats, your car will still get dirty over time if it isn’t vacuum regularly. You can invest in a handheld vacuum, although these aren’t as powerful, or use a more industrial vacuum such as the Karcher WD 3 Wet and Dry Vacuum Cleaner. This can clean up everything from dust, gravel and even liquid.
Keep a multi-purpose cleaner at hand
If you need to clean up a mess while driving, having a multi-purpose cleaner or interior cleaning wipes on hand can be extremely useful. You can quickly clean up any spills or stains, or use them to keep your dashboard and instrument display looking pristine.
Air freshener
Another way to keep your car smelling clean and fresh is to buy an air freshener. Over time, your car will lose its "new car" smell. This can be due to eating in the car, smoking, pets, or even leaks. Use a car air freshener to get your car smelling fresh again and eliminate these odours. You can get branded ones from the likes of Lynx, Yankee Candle, Jelly Belly, and Febreze, or use professional odour eliminators from brands such as AutoGlym, Meguiar's, and Turtle Wax.
