Mercedes-Benz is renowned for the sheer size of its cars and engines, making them a premium car brand focused on luxury and driver comfort. The A-Class is considered the least expensive model the German manufacturer has to offer, rivalling the Audi A3 and BMW 1 Series.
Trims and specs
The current trims for the A-Class include
SE
This entry-level trim contains a decent selection of specified features, including 16in alloy wheels, a diamond-style grille, a rear reversing camera and heated front seats, to name a few.
Regarding engine options, there are two available: a 1.3L petrol engine and 2L diesel, which can be specified for either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed automatic.
The SE also has several safety features, including lane keep assist, attention assist, and active brake assist.
Sport
As well as what’s offered in the SE trim, with the Sport, you’ll find chrome trim pieces, performance headlights and Mercedes’ Thermotronic automatic climate control. The steering wheel also features multi-function controls.
You get the same engines as the SE however, you can have them optimised for power, with the diesel being available with either 116bhp or 150bhp, and the petrol can be specified as 136bhp or 163bhp.
Sport Executive Edition
This trim builds upon the Sport by adding more tech like the 10.25in MBUX touchscreen and includes smartphone integration for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
AMG Line Executive Edition
This trim offers a more aggressive design and several more engine options, including the A250e hybrid that offers 218bhp. Because of this, the AMG Line Edition is only available as an automatic.
AMG Line Premium Edition
With this trim, you can make the most of keyless entry and keyless go, and the rear seats get an armrest.
AMG Line Premium Plus Edition
This trim is top of the range for the A-Class and offers more luxurious features like a panoramic glass roof and automatic sign recognition.
